Ok here goes nothing! I guess I needed a blog to vent, and today's topic is....talking on cell phones while in a store, Dr. office, etc...
Everyone knows that I work in a small grocery store. I am a manager, but alot of times I run register. I am up to my eyeballs in buttmunchers who talk on their phones while checking out. I try really hard if I am shopping not to answer my phone, or if I have too, to make it really quick. But I have witnessed some outrageous behavior in the last few years that makes me want to pull my friggin hair out! I know how to multitask. Most people do. Some, however can't handle talking on the phone and realizing they are facing a cashier who has told them the total 3 times, only to get asked what the total of their purchase is. Then, when the cashier has had enough, they give up talking to said rude phone talker. then....oh this is great...the customer gets pissy because the cashier was RUDE! I have had it. I heard that some stores have signs up that say " we will gladly take your order when you finish your phone conversation." I wish soooo much that I could do that. I don't think my boss would like that much, but I have told people outright that I will be with them when their done on the phone. Give me a nasty look. I really don't care. You are in my store and want my respect. Give a little and at least tell the person you are talking to that you will call them back before you check out! Oh and another thing! Don't get all pissy when said cashier laughs at what you're talking about! You are talking loud enough for everyone in the store to hear, so deal with it if we react to it!!
